Ed Posh became the first Head Golf Professional at the Village Links of Glen Ellyn when it opened in 1967 as a municipal golf course. Through the years, Posh created an environment for golfers of all levels at a place where they could participate in social and competitive events that were typically offered only at private country clubs.
Posh, known for working without a sick day or vacations, became known as the Ambassador for the Village Links due to his ongoing efforts to cultivate relationships with the Village Links golfers, his hard work in establishing various golf events, his endless generosity with the course customers and especially his attention to junior golfers. In 1968, Posh started the first annual Village Links Junior Championship. He later devised an innovative Junior Golf Program, helping hundreds of young students each year learn the game.
His hard work and his genuine love of golf and its followers, have helped turn the Village Links into an elite municipal golf course that attracts avid players from all walks of life. When Posh retired in 1995, the Ed Posh Scholarship Fund was created to honor his many contributions.
