The annual Ed Posh Scholarship Shootout (Golf & Dinner event) took place under favorable weather conditions on July 17, 2015 at the Village Links Golf Course in Glen Ellyn.
160 golfers competed in the golf scramble for the coveted POSH CUP, which was won by the MARK WILSON 4-SOME (with Mike Zavorski, Tom Olson and Finney Rachel), the Dave Baer 4-some came in second. The 1st place for the mixed men and ladies division went to the IMBURGIA 4-some (Ray & Sue Imburgia, Frank Miske III, Patrice Swan). The long drive competition saw Tom McCann, Frank Miske III, Mitch Posh, Eric Workman and Carolyn Ascher as the winners.
The $ 1,000 prize for the annual Shootout with a total of 8 qualified golfers competing on the 18th hole during the evening events was won by John Vivoda. The putting contest was won by Frank Rosch! Congratulations to all the winners and to the many, who tried!
The evening events with over 280 dinner guests proceeded with a gourmet dinner prepared by the staff of the Reserve 22 (Chef Mike Concepcion) at the Links in a beautiful especially erected party tent. The live and silent auctions yielded record results with many attractive items, like a "Romantic Bahamas Weekend with Ocean Fishing", Golf trips like Kohler and Bandon Dunes, and many more. The Michael Heaton Band was the featured entertainment. Our guests enjoyed an exciting summer evening.
Our participating patrons, donors, sponsors, local businesses and their generosity and contributions made it possible for us to exceed our 2015 financial fundraising objectives and to raise more than the necessary funds for the 2015 scholarships. THANK YOU!
The Ed Posh Scholarship Fund wishes to express our utmost gratitude to all, who helped to achieve our goals, our patrons, the supporting businesses of Glen Ellyn, our sponsors and donors and our wonderful scholars and committed volunteers.
